Today, very early this morning around half past three we crossed the finish line for the third race of the Baltic Sprint Cup from Kleipeda to Gdynia. Finally, a few hours later we knew we are the winner in our Racer 2 group. It has been a gorgeous racing, with this northerly wind of around 15 knots and a perfect reaching cours, we played out our strengths. Well, the sight of our opponents every now and then, surely played it's part and gave us additional motivation to race the boat faster than ever.
The fastest Boat 'Outsider' just needed a little less than 10 hours for
the 111 nm distance, while we crossed the finish line after exactly 15
hours. Outsider was closely followed by the 82-foot Calypso and the
Lithuanian Ambersail. In our group second and third place went to
Schüddelfrost and Inschallah by a time differenc of aroound 5 and 9
minutes, quite close.
This morning around nine while I write these lines, all boats of the
fleet have arrived in Gdynia. The next event on the schedule, beside
some relaxation, will be the round-the-buoy racing in the Gulf of
Gdansk, which will stage on Tuesday.
